PENGEMBANGAN DESAIN GERABAH TRADISIONAL SENTRA PAGELARAN MALANG DENGAN TEKNIK APLIKASI SERAT ALAM MELALUI PROGRAM KEMITRAAN MASYARAKAT

Abstract

Produk keramik gerabah trdisional yang diproduksi oleh para perajin sentra Pagelaran Kabupaten Malang kurang memiliki nilai estetik dan ekonomis. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya pengetahuan, dan kemampuan teknis perajin dalam mengembangkan produknya. Melalui program kemitraan, masyarakat telah dilatih untuk pengembangan desain gerabah tersebut menjadi produk gerabah hias, elemen asesoris interior. Tim Pengabdian Program Kemitraan Masyarakat Universitas Negeri Malang telah membantu menangani persoalan teknis tersebut. Pemecahan masalah melalui metode pelatihan pengembangan desain ornamen produk gerabah hias dengan teknik apikasi berbahan serat alam. Materi pengembangan meliputi desain ornamen produk gerabah hias dengan teknik anyam dan rajut berbahan serat alam lokal. Hasil pengembangan produk gerabah perkakas rumah tangga tradisional menjadi produk elemen estetik interior, antara lain ragam produk gerabah hias kendi, vas bunga, patung figur binatang, dengan kombinasi bahan tali serat alam dan rotan.
