Focus and Scope

Dinamika Pendidikan offers original articles on economics education. In its pages, leading scholars evaluate innovations in teaching techniques, materials, and programs. Instructors of introductory through graduate level economics education will find the journal an indispensable resource for content and pedagogy in a variety of media.

Manuscripts for Dinamika Pendidikan should fall within one of the following categories:
  • Research in economics education:
  • Original theoretical and empirical studies dealing with the analysis and evaluation of teaching methods, learning attitudes and interests, materials, or processes.
  • Economics content: Substantive issues, new ideas, and research findings in economics that may influence or can be used in the teaching of economics.
  • Economics instruction: Innovations in pedagogy, hardware, materials, and methods for treating traditional and newer subjects. Issues involving the way economics is taught are emphasized.
  • Online: The Online section identifies exemplary material for teaching and learning economics that is interactive or otherwise not conducive to traditional printed-page format. It features noncommercial work by economists and educators who are creating teaching materials using innovative electronic technology.
  • Features and information: Reports on the status and events that influence academic economists (the labor market, status of women and minorities, and developments within graduate and undergraduate programs).
Manuscripts typically will be evaluated by two or more reviewers. Pertinent comments will be brought to the author's attention, but manuscripts will not be returned. Submissions should be clear and concise. Authors should keep in mind that our readers are economists and educators with diverse preparation in economics, statistics, and educational theory. Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors will receive instructions about submitting a disk. Following the publication of articles in the journal , and as a condition of that publication, authors will be expected to make their data available to those who request it from them.

Peer Review Process

The research article submitted to this online journal will be peer-reviewed at least 2 (two) reviewers. The accepted research articles will be available online following the journal peer-reviewing process. Language used in this journal is English or Indonesia. Peer review is designed to assess the validity, quality and often the originality of articles for publication. Its ultimate purpose is to maintain the integrity of science by filtering out invalid or poor quality articles. From a publisher’s perspective, peer review functions as a filter for content, directing better quality articles to better quality journals and so creating journal brands. Running articles through the process of peer review adds value to them. For this reason publishers need to make sure that peer review is robust.

Editor Feedback

"Pointing out the specifics about flaws in the paper’s structure is paramount. Are methods valid, is data clearly presented, and are conclusions supported by data?” (Editor feedback)

“If an editor can read your comments and understand clearly the basis for your recommendation, then you have written a helpful review.” (Editor feedback)

Peer Review at Its Best

What peer review does best is improve the quality of published papers by motivating authors to submit good quality work – and helping to improve that work through the peer review process.

In fact, 90% of researchers feel that peer review improves the quality of their published paper (University of Tennessee and CIBER Research Ltd, 2013).
