Terapi Menulis Ekspresif Berbasis Online Untuk Meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Psikologis Mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Unissula

Abstract

Menjadi mahasiswa merupakan bagian dari tahap perkembangan dewasa awal yang penuh perubahan. Banyak penelitian menunjukkan kondisi ini berakibat pada adanya masalah pada kesejahteraan psikologis mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas terapi menulis ekspresif berbasis online untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis mahasiswa. Terapi ini dilakukan secara online, di mana subjek menerima instruksi melalui group chat dan mengirimkan hasil tulisan melalui email, dilakukan sebanyak empat hari berturut-turut dengan durasi masing-masing 65 menit. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 1 dan 3 di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Islam Sultan Agung. Penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimen kuasi dengan desain two group pre and post test design, di mana terdapat 1 Kelompok Eksperimen (KE) yang berisi 10 subjek dan 1 Kelompok Kontrol (KK) yang berisi 9 subjek. Analisis generalized linear model menunjukkan bahwa F = 0,000, p = 0,989 (p>0,05), yang berarti terapi menulis ekspresif berbasis online tidak berpengaruh terhadap kesejahteraan psikologis subjek. Terdapat berbagai faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil ini, yaitu dari kontrol eksperimen yang kurang, waktu pengukuran yang kurang panjang, dan perbedaan kultural yang didiskusikan dalam artikel ini.

Being a college student is part of emerging adult development stage which full of changes. As a result, studies reported many of students experienced problems with their psychological well-being. This study aimed to examine the effectivity of online based expressive writing therapy to increase college students’ psychological well being. This therapy was conducted online, where subjects accepting instruction through group chat and send their writing through email in 4 consecutive days, in 65 minutes for each days. Subjects in this study were students in semester 1 and 3 in Faculty of Psychology Sultan Agung Islamic University. This study employed quasi experiment with two group pre and post test design with 1 experimental group which consisted of 10 subjects and 1 control group which consisted of 9 subjects. Generalized linear model analysis showed F = 0,008, p = 0,838 (p>0,05) which showed online based expressive writing therapy did not has any significant impact towards students’ psychological well-being. There were various factors contributing to this result which were the lack of experimental control, the neccessary to lengthen the measurement period, and cultural differences which discussed thoroughly in the article
