Focus and Scope

International Journal of Active Learning is an international, refereed publication for all those who teach and support learning in higher education (HE) and those who undertake or use research into effective learning, teaching and assessment in universities and colleges. The journal is devoted to all aspects of development, innovations and good practice in higher education teaching and learning, including the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and issues concerning the management of teaching and learning. Non-discipline specific in nature, it comprises accounts of research by those engaged in the field of learning and teaching across all areas of the curriculum in higher education. There is an overt aim to improve the practice of learning and teaching in higher education.

Aims of Journal

  • Disseminate current and relevant research in learning and teaching in higher education in the UK and internationally, including the use of Information and Communication and Technologies (ICTs) for learning and teaching and issues concerning the management of teaching and learning.
  • Publish articles that build on existing scholarship and research into learning and teaching and foster the growth of research and theory-based practice, both individual and collaborative.
  • Disseminate the outcomes of collaborative research into learning and teaching.
  • Provide a forum for discussion on key topics in higher education.
  • Provide a conduit for active scholarship about teaching and learning.
  • Review books and packages about learning and teaching in higher education.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to this journal must follow focus and scope, and author guidelines of this journal. The submitted manuscripts must address scientific merit or novelty appropriate to the focus and scope. All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism contents. All authors are suggested to use plagiarism detection softaware to do the similarity checking. Editors check the plagiarism detection of articles in this journal by using a Turnitin software.

The research article submitted to this journal will be peer-reviewed at least 2 (two) or more expert reviewers. The reviewers give scientific valuable comments improving the contents of the manuscript.

Final decision of articles acceptance will be made by Editors according to reviewers comments. Publication of accepted articles including the sequence of published articles will be made by Editor in Chief by considering sequence of accepted date and geographical distribution of authors as well as thematic issue.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
