Author Guidelines

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION

Initial submission

The article is the result of research study in public health. Article should be written in English or in Bahasa. The initial submission should be clean and complete but does not have to comply with all KEMAS specifications yet. 

Manuscripts of insufficient priority or quality are promptly rejected. Manuscripts retained to undergo a review process for potential publication in the Journal will be submitted to a technical check. Authors will be informed immediately if their manuscripts need reformatting and will be given 7 days to make specific changes.

Manuscript File Formats:

All manuscripts should be submitted in Word document format. KEMAS submission system is located at http://journal.unnes.ac.id/nju/index.php/kemas.

Manuscript Components:

Research result article consists of : Title, author’s name, abstract in English, key words, introductions, methods, results, discussions, conclusions and recommendations, and bibliography.

Review article consists of : Title, author’s name, abstract in English, key Authors must attach a plagiarism checking document (can use turnitin, viper, or something else). The maximum similarity tolerated is 20%.

 

WRITING GUIDE

Title

a) Title is written in English language and informative, concise and not too long or short (5 -12 word).

b) Consists of the variables under study and describes the content of the manuscript.

c) Title does not contain abbreviations or formulas.

d) The title page should include the title of the manuscript only. The names of authors should be deleted to ensure double blinding of the paper during the peer review process.

Abstract and Keyword

a) Abstract is concisely written, about the most important ideas and contain the problems or research objectives, research method, and research results.

b) Written in Indonesian and English language with 150-200 words maximum.

c) Keywords contains main words consisting of 3-5 words

Introduction

Introduction is presented in an integrated manner without sub title. It is written in the form of paragraphs with a length of 15- 20% of the articles length, and contains:

a) Background or research rational

b) Theoretical basis (literature review in brief)

c) Research objective

Method

Method is written with a length of 15-20% of the articles length and contain:

a) The study design

b) Data collection techniques and data sources

c) Method of data analysis

Results and Discussion

Results and discussion are presented with a length of 60-70% of the articles length. The results represent a major part of scientific

articles containing:

a) Results of data analysis

b) Results of hypothesis testing

c) It can be presented with a table or graph to clarify results

d) Discussion is an important part of the entire scientific article. The purposes of the discussion are: answer the research problem, interpret the findings, integrate the findings of research into the existing knowledge, and formulate a new theory or modify the existing theories.

e) Serial number that is used is number (1), (2), (3), and so on, do not need to use a composite numbers. Hyphens should not change the serial number.

Conclusion

a) Contain conclusions and recommendations.

b) Conclusions contain answers to the research questions.

c) Recommendations refer to the results of research and practical form of action, specify to whom and for what recommendation intended.

d) Written in essay form, not in numerical form.

 

References

a) Contain literatures that are referenced in the content, arranged alphabetically, and written in the Harvard system.

b) Fully written, appropriate with the references in the content

c) Only load literatures referenced in the content.

d) Source of references are 80% from literatures published last 10 years.

e) References are at least 80% from research articles in journals or research reports.

f) Reference format is Harvard better to use Reference Manager (endnote, mendeley, etc).

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor) and that's not a work of plagiarism.
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  5. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  6. The article from research must be qualify of ethical clearance (proven by attaching ethical clearance letter).
  7. Ethical Clearance & free Plagiarism Letter must be uploaded in stage 4 (Supplementary Files)
