PENGARUH RASIO BINDER DENGAN CAT WATERBASE TERHADAP DAYA REKAT DAN KEKILAPAN CAT

Abstract
Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh rasio binder dengan cat waterbase terhadap daya rekat dan kekilapan cat. Binder. Binder bertugas merekatkan partikel-partikel pigmen kedalam lapisan film cat dan membuat cat merekat pada permukaan. Tipe binder dalam suatu formula cat menentukan banyak hal dari performa cat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan jika rasio binder dengan cat waterbase mempengaruhi nilai daya rekat dan daya kilap hasil pengecatan. Nilai daya rekat tertinggi diperoleh pada campuran dengan perbandingan 5:1 yaitu menghasilkan nilai daya lekat GT 1. Nilai daya kilap tertinggi diperoleh pada campuran dengan perbandingan 4:1 yaitu menghasilkan nilai daya kilap 65,22 GU. Perbandingan rasio binder dengan cat waterbase yang paling baik digunakan dalam proses pengecatan yaitu campuran dengan perbandingan 4:1 yang memiliki nilai daya rekat yang cukup tinggi dan nilai daya kilap yang paling tinggi karena pengecatan berfungsi untuk memperbaiki nilai estetika kendaraan.
