PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN TENTANG PRINSIP KERJA DIFFERENTIAL DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA PERAGA DIFFERENTIAL CUTTING

Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar peningkatan pemahaman peserta didikdengan mengunakan media peraga differential cutting tentang prinsip kerja differential.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi experiment dengan pola Pretest-Posttest Design dan tes sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMK N 4 Semarang yang mengikuti mata pelajaran chassis and drive train Semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2011/2012 yang berjumlah 58 siswa terbagi dalam 2 kelas, dan semua populasi dijadikan sampel, sehingga menjadi penelitian populasi.Nilai rata-rata pada pre test = 71,48 menjadi 83,89 pada post test. Dengan demikian peningkatan terjadi sebesar = 12,41 atau 14,79 %. Media peraga differential cutting masih perlu dikembangkan lagi, karena pada saat penggunaan dilapangan terdapat kekurangan pada bagian differential gear, sehingga perlu di tambahkan suatu control elektronik untuk memudahkan differential saat berjalan lurus, belok kanan dan belok kiri.
The aim of this reseach is to know the increase of student comprehension when using visual aid of differential cutting about working principle of differential. This research use quasi experiment method with Pretest-Posttest Design and the test as instrument of collecting data. The population of this research are eleventh grade students of SMK N 4 Semarang who are participatingchassis and drive train subject in academic year 2011/2012. There are 2 classes as the population. Each class consists of 58 students, and in this research the entire population as sample, with the result of that, this research called Population Research. The mean of pre-test = 71.48 raises to 83.89 in the post-test. Thereby, there are improvements of 12.41 or 14.79 %. The visual aid of differential cutting need to be developed, because in fact, there is lacking in differential gear, so that need to be added an electronic control to make differential easier in moving forward, turn right and left automatically.
