Abstract

Parents' involvement in children's education at the Mona Play Group, Kenten
Village, aims to determine the form of parental involvement in their children's
education. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of
this study were parents in the Mona Play Group who have children aged three to
six years, totaling five families. Data analysis techniques used from Sugiyono's
theory are data reduction, data display, and data verification. The results showed
that parents were already involved in children's education but of the four forms of
parental involvement, three of them indicated that parents were really involved by
providing protection, support and supervision for children both at home and at
school. Whereas in one form of involvement, namely the collaboration between
parents and schools, it shows that there is involvement but there is still a lack of
enthusiasm from parents in volunteering activities and the application of the habit
of reading prayers before and after learning. So that for parents, there needs to be
increased awareness and concern in smoothing the teaching and learning process
of children and working with playgroups through activities such as volunteering
and parenting programs.
