Unnes Law Journal (Unnes L. J.) was first published in 2012, and since its first publication has used the Open Access Journal System as a whole. Unnes L. J. is a law journal that publishes research results in the field of law both public and private law. For the first time, this journal published articles in Indonesian, and since 2019, this journal has exclusively published articles in English. Since 2015, Unnes L. J. has also been indexed in DOAJ and several other indexing institutions both nationally and internationally.

Initially, this journal only published articles from the results of student research within the Faculty of Law, Semarang State University. But over time and increasing recognition both nationally and internationally, this journal also opens opportunities for anyone (Students, Lecturers, Practitioners, or the Community) who are committed to developing information on the study of law in various perspectives.
