Important Notice: Mandatory Use of Institutional Email Addresses & Account Maintenance
To uphold the integrity of academic publishing and to proactively prevent ghost authorship, identity fraud, or the submission of manuscripts by unauthorized third parties, the Journal of Indonesian Legal Studies (JILS) has implemented a strict submission and registration policy.
New Submission Policy
Effective immediately, JILS only accepts manuscripts submitted using an official institutional email address (e.g., [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected]).
- Automatic Rejection: Any manuscript submitted using a personal or commercial email provider (such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook, etc.) will be automatically rejected during the initial screening stage without further review.
- Affiliation Verification: The email address used must correspond directly with the author’s stated institutional affiliation.
Mandatory Account Cleanup
In line with this policy, the Editorial Board is conducting a comprehensive audit of our database.
- Account Deletion: Any registered user accounts (Authors or Reviewers) currently using personal email addresses (e.g., @gmail.com) will be permanently removed/deleted from the OJS system.
- Action Required: We advise all members of the JILS community to update their profiles using an institutional email address immediately to avoid loss of access or account deletion.
Purpose of this Policy
These measures serve as a primary security framework to:
- Verify Author Identity: Ensure that contributors are legitimate members of their stated institutions.
- Eliminate Ghost Authorship: Prevent "paper mills" or third-party agencies from submitting work under false or untraceable identities.
- Maintain Professional Standards: Ensure a professional and traceable line of communication between the Editorial Board and the global academic community.
Note to Independent Researchers: If you are an independent scholar without an institutional affiliation, you must contact the Editorial Office via a formal inquiry to request a verification waiver before attempting to register or submit.
