Abstract

The need for drinking water for the community continues to increase along with population growth without being balanced with the availability of clean water so that people prefer refilled water as a source of drinking water that is easier and more practical. There are so many small industries that run Refill Drinking Water Depot (DAMIU) business, but not all DAMIUs are managed properly, especially for water quality. Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No.492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010, drinking water has standard criteria, namely physical, chemical, and microbiological. Mandatory parameters for microbiological drinking water quality include Coliform bacteria and Escherichia coli with a maximum concentration of 0/100 ml sample. The purpose of this study was to analyze the presence and number of Coliform bacteria in refilled drinking water in Semarang City and to determine the factors that influence the presence of Coliform bacteria in refilled drinking water. This laboratory-based research was conducted descriptively. The samples in this study came from 8 DAMIU in Gajahmungkur District which were then identified in the laboratory by the membrane filter method. The results showed that of the 8 samples examined, 7 of them were contaminated with Coliform bacteria. Factors that influence the presence of Coliform bacteria are the operator/owner's lack of awareness of cleanliness, environmental conditions, filter cleanliness, and the condition of the drinking water depot building.


 


Kebutuhan air minum untuk masyarakat terus meningkat seiring meningkatnya pertumbuhan penduduk tanpa diimbangi dengan ketersediaan air bersih sehingga masyarakat lebih memilih air isi ulang sebagai sumber air minum yang lebih mudah dan praktis. Banyak sekali industri-industri kecil yang menjalankan bisnis Depot Air Minum Isi Ulang (DAMIU), tetapi tidak semua DAMIU dikelola dengan baik terutama untuk kualitas airnya. Berdasarkan Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan RI No.492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010 air minum memiliki kriteria standar yaitu fisik, kimia, dan mikrobiologi. Parameter wajib kualitas air minum secara mikrobiologis meliputi bakteri Coliform dan Escherichia coli dengan kadar maksimum 0/100 ml sampel. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis keberadaan dan jumlah bakteri Coliform pada air minum isi ulang di Kota Semarang serta mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi adanya bakteri Coliform pada air minum isi ulang. Penelitian ini berbasis laboratorium dilakukan secara deskriptif. Sampel pada penelitian ini berasal dari 8 DAMIU di Kecamatan Gajahmungkur yang kemudian dilakukan identifikasi di laboratorium dengan metode membran filter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 8 sampel yang diperiksa 7 diantaranya terkontaminasi bakteri Coliform. Faktor yang mempengaruhi adanya bakteri Coliform adalah kurangnya kesadaran operator/pemilik terhadap kebersihan, kondisi lingkungan sekitar, kebersihan filter, dan kondisi bangunan depot air minum.
