ELT  Forum: Journal of English Language Teaching (p-ISSN 2252-6706/ e-ISSN 2721-4532) is published by English Department, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Indonesia, in collaboration with the Association of English Language and Literature Study Programs (APSBSI). The Journal invites submissions that put in theories and methods from all parts of applied linguistics to the learning of English. Matters of linguistic study can contain ELT-related foci encompassing text/corpus linguistics, sociolinguistics, functional grammar, discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis, conversational analysis, linguistic anthropology/ethnography, language acquisition, language socialization, narrative studies, gesture/ sign /visual forms of communication, cognitive linguistics, literacy studies, language policy, and language ideology.

Focus and Scope

The aim of this Journal is to promote a principled approach to research on innovative English Language Teaching by encouraging enquiries into relationship between theoretical and practical studies in innovation of English language teaching at all levels and among preservice tearchers or teacher trainees. The journal welcomes contributions in the areas of English education and training as first, second, and foreign languages. As a scholarly forum, specific themes the journal covers can include:

  • Approaches, methods, and techniques to language skills;
  • computer-aided language planning and testing;
  • computer-assisted multilingualism and multilingual education;
  • classroom discourse analysis in virtual learning environments;
  • Digital Literacy and mutimodal learning;
  • Systemic Functional Linguistics and Technology Enhanced Language Learning;
  • 21st century learning of literature;
  • language acquisition in the digital age;
  • language policy and evaluation; and
  • computer-mediated English translation of students and teachers;

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to this journal must follow focus and scope, and author guidelines of this journal. The submitted manuscripts must address scientific merit or novelty appropriate to the focus and scope. All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism contents. All authors are suggested to use plagiarism detection software to do the similarity checking. Editors check the plagiarism detection of articles in this journal by using a Turnitin software.
The research article submitted to this journal will be peer-reviewed at least 2 (two) or more expert reviewers. The reviewers give scientific valuable comments improving the contents of the manuscript.
Final decision of articles acceptance will be made by Editors according to reviewers comments. Publication of accepted articles including the sequence of published articles will be made by Editor in Chief by considering sequence of accepted date and geographical distribution of authors as well as thematic issue.

Publication Frequency

Starting from 2021, ELT Forum: Journal of English Language Teaching is published triannually; in March, July and November with ten articles for each edition. It is also published in two versions; printed out and electronic.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
