Abstract

This study aims to determine the correlation between crowding with privacy on the students who live in Pondok Pesantren. This research is correlational. The study population was students who live in Pondok Pesantren Durrotu Aswaja. Number of members of the sample in this study was 150 people by using simple random sampling technique. The research data were taken using a scale of privacy and crowding scale. This study uses a tryout used, in which all members of the sample were subjected tryout and research as well. Tryout privacy scale consists of 20 items, 16 items valid with validity coefficients ranging 0.071 to 0.872. While the crowding scale consists of 25 items, 24 items valid with validity coefficient 0.215. Privacy scale reliability coefficient was 0.500 and crowding scale was 0.937. Methods of data analysis in this research is the analysis of product moment correlation. The results showed a negative correlation between crowding with privacy on the students who live in Pondok Pesantren Durrotu Aswaja (r = 0.396, p <0.000).
