"NUTRIZIONE" (Nutrition Research and Develpoment Journal) is a peer-reviewed journal. This journal follows guidelines from Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) facing all aspects of publication ethics and, in particular, how to handle cases of research and publication misconduct. This statement clarifies ethical behaviour of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, the peer-reviewer and the publisher (Universitas Negeri Semarang and Persatuan Ahli Gizi Indonesia Jawa Tengah). "NUTRIZIONE" (Nutrition Research and Develpoment Journal) are dedicated to following best practices on ethical matters, errors and retractions. The prevention of publication malpractice is one of the important responsibilities of the editorial board. Any kind of unethical behavior is not acceptable, and the journals do not tolerate plagiarism in any form.
"NUTRIZIONE" (Nutrition Research and Develpoment Journal) adapts COPE to meet high quality standard of ethics for publisher, editors, authors, and reviewers. As an essential issue, publication ethics needs to be explained clearly to improve the quality of the research worldwide. In this part, we explain the standard for editors, authors, and reviewers. Publisher don’t have right to interfere with the integrity of the contents and only support to publish in timely manner.
A. Ethical Guidelines of Editors
The publication of articles in the "NUTRIZIONE" (Nutrition Research and Develpoment Journal) commits to upholding the highest peer review standard. All the articles have to apply scientific methods and bear a positive impact on the development of science in Indonesia. Therefore, it is essential to agree on ethical standards for all parties involved in the article publication: the author, editors, reviewers, publisher, and public.
Universitas Negeri Semarang, as the publisher of the "NUTRIZIONE" (Nutrition Research and Develpoment Journal), deals with journal ethics and their impacts on all stages of the article publication. Advertising, reprinting, or other commercial revenues related to the article publication may not cause any impact or influence on editorial decisions.
The editors of the "NUTRIZIONE" (Nutrition Research and Develpoment Journal) are responsible for selecting submitted articles to be reviewed and conducting the follow-up process in the publication procedures. The reviews are conducted through a blind review process to maintain fairness. The editors are guided by the policy of the journal’s editorial board and the applicable legal requirements in order to avoid defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editors can also negotiate with reviewers in making the decision.
When an editor evaluates the submitted articles, he/she must do it without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy of the authors.
The chief editor and other editorial staff must not disclose any information about the submitted articles to the other evaluation personnel. The editors also must not disclose any information related to reviewers, other editorial advisors, or publishers.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Any unpublished articles must not be used in the editor’s research without the expressed written consent of the authors. All information and ideas obtained through the peer review process are kept confidential and must not be used for personal interests. Editors must not consider a script based on a particular interest, such as a competitive, collaborative result or connection with one of the authors, companies, or similar institutions.
B. Ethical Guidelines of Reviewers
Every selected and qualified reviewer evaluates an article. A reviewer has to fulfill the academic requirements and be capable in their field of study. They must also be able to meet the agreed deadline for every article review. Had the given deadline been deemed unacceptable for a reviewer to evaluate the article, the reviewer must notify the editor-in-charge to find other available reviewers.
Each article received is treated as a confidential document. Every incoming manuscript must not be shown or discussed with other parties.
The article evaluation is conducted objectively. Reviewers must express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers must be able to identify relevant published work. Any statement of observation, derivation, or argument previously reported must be accompanied by appropriate credit or citations. Reviewers must also provide a reminder to the Editor if there is a substantial similarity or overlap between the article under evaluation and other published articles.
C. Ethical Guidelines of Authors
An author makes a significant contribution in the form of the concept, design, implementation, or interpretation of the reported research. Some other contributing parties can be listed as a co-author. The lead author has to make sure to acknowledge the listed co-author(s). The lead author and co-authors have checked, approved the final version of their article, and agreed to the publication.
Originality and Plagiarism
"NUTRIZIONE" (Nutrition Research and Develpoment Journal) regards plagiarism as a serious offense. Authors who deliberately quote or use materials from published works or articles without proper references will be blacklisted. Therefore, the authors must ensure the originality of the written article. If the authors use others' works, either full or partial, they must pay attention to how to cite them.
Data Access and Retention
Authors have to provide the raw data related to their manuscripts for editorials and be prepared to provide public access to such data (per Statement of ALPSP-STM data and database). If possible, data should be kept for a considerable time after publication.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
An author should not submit the same article to different journals or publishers. The multiple, redundant or concurrent publication of the same article to several journals simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable.
Acknowledgment of Sources
If the written article is influenced or inspired by other people's work, the author must clarify it. The quoted sources must be from an influential publication and match the written field subject.
Authors must report an accurate account of their research. The reports are should be based on real data and should be accompanied by detailed and accurate references. False or inaccurate reports are considered unethical and unacceptable behavior.
