The Indonesian Journal of Agrarian Law is committed to promoting inclusive and equitable publishing. We recognize that researchers in the field of agrarian and land law may face financial barriers, particularly those working directly with local communities or independent research projects. Therefore, we offer a fee waiver and discount policy to support authors who lack institutional or research funding.
1. Eligibility Criteria
Authors may apply for a full or partial waiver of the Article Processing Charge (APC) if they meet one or more of the following criteria:
-
Students and Early-Career Researchers: Currently enrolled students or researchers who have graduated within the last three years and do not have institutional funding.
-
Financial Hardship: Independent researchers, legal aid workers, or authors who are not affiliated with any funded research project.
-
Geographical Location: Authors affiliated with institutions in low-income and lower-middle-income countries (as classified by the World Bank).
-
Special Circumstances: Authors facing exceptional circumstances, including researchers from indigenous communities or local NGOs without institutional funding.
2. How to Apply
-
Timing: The waiver request must be made at the time of manuscript submission. Requests made after a manuscript has been accepted for publication cannot be guaranteed.
-
Process: Authors should submit a formal request to the editorial office via email or indicate their request in the "Comments to the Editor" section during the online submission process.
-
Documentation: The request should include a brief justification and, if possible, a formal statement from the author’s institution confirming the lack of funding.
3. Editorial Independence
The decision to grant a waiver is made by the publisher and is strictly separated from the editorial process. The journal's editors and peer reviewers are completely unaware of the payment or waiver status of any submitted manuscript. The request for, or granting of, a fee waiver will not affect the peer review process, the editorial evaluation, or the final decision regarding the manuscript in any way.
4. Review of Applications
Waiver requests are evaluated confidentially by the journal management. Authors will be notified of the decision regarding their waiver request before the final publication process begins.
(For information regarding the standard Article Processing Charges, please refer to our APC page).
