Legal Protection Against Women Victims of Sexual Harassment Through Social Media (Cyberporn)

The need for legal protection for victims of sexual harassment is a necessity in a state governed by the rule of law, serving as a guarantee of protection and the elimination of discrimination against women in Indonesia, as stipulated in various international legal instruments. These include the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948), the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (1966), the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (1966), the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) (1979), the Vienna Declaration (1993), the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women (1994), and, most notably, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (1995). The purpose of this study is to analyze the legal protection available to women who are victims of sexual harassment through social media (cyberporn).
