Paramita: Historical Studies Journal, a peer review journal, is published by History Department, Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Semarang in collaboration with Masyarakat Sejarawan Indonesia (Indonesian Historical Society)Paramita  firstly was published in 1990 based on SIT: No. 100/ PT 36 H.FIS/ 1990 and ISSN: 0854-0039Paramita: Historical Studies Journal also has elecronic ISSN: 2407-5825. Since 2016, Paramita: Historical Studies Journal has accredited (A) based on Keputusan Direktur Jenderal Penguatan Riset dan Pengembangan Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi Republik Indonesia No: 36a/E/KPT/2016, issued on 23 Mei 2016.  Since 2018-2020, Paramita: Historical Studies Journal is categorized as Peringkat I (Sinta I) based on Keputusan Direktur Jenderal Penguatan Riset dan Pengembangan, Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi Republik Indonesia Nomor 30/E/KPT/2018 tentang Hasil Akreditasi Jurnal Ilmiah periode 2 tahun 2018. Since 2020-2024 our journal still categorized as Peringkat I (Sinta I) based on Keputusan Menteri Riset dan Teknologi/Kelapa Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasioinal Nomor 200/M/KPT/2020 tentang Peringkat Akreditasi Jurnal Ilmiah Periode 3 tahun 2020.

Every year Paramita publishes thirty articles for two issues in March and September. The range of carried studies in the publication includes history, historiography, history of education, and history education. At that time, the editorial staff of Paramita: Historical Studies Journal is led by Prof. Dr. Wasino, M.Hum.
