Access Policy
The Indonesian Journal of Criminal Law Studies (IJCLS) is committed to providing broad and equitable access to scholarly research in criminal law and related fields. The journal supports the dissemination of knowledge to researchers, academics, legal practitioners, students, policymakers, and the wider public.
IJCLS recognizes that access to scholarly publications is important for the development of legal scholarship, evidence-informed policymaking, and the advancement of criminal justice. Accordingly, the journal seeks to make its published content accessible to readers without unnecessary barriers.
Access commitment: IJCLS supports open access to scholarly publications so that readers can consult and use published research in accordance with the journal's applicable licensing terms.
1. Open Access to Published Content
IJCLS provides open access to its published articles. Readers may access, read, and download available articles through the journal's website without requiring a subscription or individual payment to the journal for access to the content.
The journal considers open access an important means of supporting the exchange of legal knowledge, encouraging scholarly discussion, and increasing the visibility and accessibility of research in criminal law and criminal justice.
2. Access for Readers
Readers may access the journal's published content through the IJCLS website, subject to the availability of the relevant article and the technical operation of the platform. Access is intended to support academic study, teaching, research, professional practice, and public understanding of criminal law.
Although IJCLS seeks to maintain reliable online access, temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond the journal's control. The journal will make reasonable efforts to maintain the availability of its published content.
3. Copyright and Reuse
Open access does not remove the need to respect copyright, attribution, and licensing requirements. The permitted reuse of IJCLS articles is governed by the journal's applicable license and Copyright Policy.
Where an article is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), users may share and adapt the material, including for commercial purposes, provided that they comply with the license terms, give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made.
4. Access and Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts comply with IJCLS requirements concerning originality, copyright, permissions, research ethics, and publication integrity. Any third-party material included in an article must be used in accordance with applicable copyright and permission requirements.
Authors who share or deposit their work in other repositories or scholarly platforms must comply with the applicable copyright, licensing, and attribution terms. Such sharing should identify the original publication in IJCLS where appropriate.
5. Long-Term Availability
IJCLS recognizes the importance of preserving published scholarship for future access and citation. The journal supports appropriate digital preservation and archiving arrangements to reduce the risk of permanent loss of published content.
The availability of archived content may depend on the preservation services, repositories, and technical systems used by the journal. Information about specific preservation arrangements should be consulted in the journal's Archiving Policy.
6. Access Policy and Related Journal Policies
This Access Policy should be read together with the following IJCLS policies:
