Plagiarism Policy

The Indonesian Journal of Criminal Law Studies (IJCLS) is committed to maintaining academic integrity, originality, and ethical standards in scholarly publishing. All authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted manuscripts are original, properly referenced, and compliant with the journal's requirements concerning plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

Authors must submit only original work. The same article, or an article containing substantially the same content, must not be submitted concurrently to another journal. Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are not permitted. Authors must ensure that any material reused from their own previously published work is appropriately acknowledged and cited.

Authors must cite appropriate sources for facts, arguments, data, and ideas drawn from other works. Direct quotations, paraphrased material, and other contributions from existing sources must be properly acknowledged and cited. Failure to acknowledge the original source of an idea, statement, or other material may constitute plagiarism.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material included in their manuscripts, including images, tables, figures, and other materials where permission is required. Authors must ensure that such materials are used in accordance with applicable copyright requirements and that the relevant sources are acknowledged.

Authors must disclose relevant conflicts of interest in their biographies or in a statement included in the published article. Conflicts of interest may include direct or indirect financial interests, professional or organizational connections, personal relationships, or other circumstances that could reasonably raise concerns about bias in the research or its reporting.

Authors must also disclose relevant sources of funding for individual authors and, where applicable, their departments or affiliated organizations.

The IJCLS Editorial Board screens submitted manuscripts using Turnitin to identify potential plagiarism and overlapping or similar text. Authors must ensure that quotations, paraphrases, and citations are used appropriately whenever required.

Authors are advised to check their manuscripts before submission to ensure that all sources are properly cited and that textual overlap is appropriately quoted, attributed, or revised. Similarity results are assessed as part of the journal's screening process.

IJCLS screens submitted manuscripts for indicators of AI-generated content as part of its efforts to maintain academic integrity and ensure the quality and originality of scholarly publications. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts comply with the journal's requirements concerning the use of AI tools.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and content of their manuscripts, including material prepared with the assistance of AI tools. Any use of AI tools must comply with the journal's applicable policies and disclosure requirements.

The IJCLS Editorial Board is responsible for conducting manuscript screening and enforcing this policy. Manuscripts that fail to meet the journal's originality, similarity, or AI detection requirements may be rejected in accordance with the applicable provisions of this policy. The journal aims to safeguard academic integrity and the credibility of its published research.
