Authors are encouraged to review this information to better understand each stage of the editorial and publication process.

  • Adjustment of Article Processing Charge (APC)

    The Indonesian Journal of Criminal Law Studies (IJCLS) announces an adjustment to its publication fee starting from Volume 11 (2026).

    For Indonesian authors, the Article Processing Charge (APC) is IDR 4,000,000. For international authors, the applicable APC will be determined separately and stated in the official invoice.

    The APC and proofreading fee are two separate payments and cannot be combined. The APC invoice will be issued through OJS after the manuscript has been declared eligible for publication based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the editorial team’s decision. The APC is payable to the account designated by Universitas Negeri Semarang.

    The proofreading fee is paid separately to the proofreading service provider, which will issue its own invoice or payment instructions.

    Further details regarding the applicable fees and payment procedures will be provided to authors after the manuscript has been accepted and declared eligible for publication.

  • Important Notice: Institutional Email and Template Compliance

    To maintain academic integrity and prevent unethical publication practices, the Indonesian Journal of Criminal Law Studies (IJCLS) implements the following policies:

    1. Submission and Registration

    Submissions must use official institutional email addresses. Manuscripts submitted using personal or commercial email addresses will be automatically rejected. In addition, non-institutional OJS accounts will be removed.

    2. Manuscript Formatting

    Authors must strictly comply with the official IJCLS manuscript template available at Template IJCLS . Manuscripts that do not comply with the required formatting may be returned to the authors or rejected before entering the peer-review process.

    3. International Collaboration

    Manuscripts must involve authors from at least two different countries, with verifiable institutional affiliations. Submissions that do not meet this international collaboration requirement will be desk rejected.

    4. Independent Researchers

    Independent researchers who do not have an institutional affiliation must request prior verification and approval from the Editorial Office before submitting a manuscript. Submissions from independent researchers without prior verification may be rejected without entering the peer-review process.
