Adjustment of Article Processing Charge (APC)

The Indonesian Journal of Criminal Law Studies (IJCLS) announces an adjustment to its publication fee, which will apply starting from Volume 11 (2026).

Based on the Rector’s Decree of Universitas Negeri Semarang Number B/258/UN37/HK.02/2026 concerning Academic Supporting Service Tariffs at the Institute for Research and Community Service of Universitas Negeri Semarang for the Year 2026, the Article Processing Charge (APC) for Indonesian authors is set at IDR 4,000,000.

For international authors, the applicable APC is subject to a separate fee determination in accordance with the applicable provisions of Universitas Negeri Semarang. The applicable amount will be communicated through the official APC invoice.

Please note that the information provided in this announcement is general information. Further details regarding the applicable fees and payment procedures will be communicated to authors once their manuscript has been declared acceptable and eligible for publication.

APC Payment

The APC invoice will be issued through the IJCLS OJS system only after the manuscript has been declared eligible for publication based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the final decision of the editorial team.

• Indonesian authors: APC of IDR 4,000,000.
• International authors: APC will be determined separately and stated in the official invoice.
• The APC must be paid to the account or payment address designated by Universitas Negeri Semarang.

Cross-border transactions may result in differences in the converted amount due to currency exchange rates and administrative or transaction fees.

Proofreading Fee

In addition to the APC, authors are required to pay a separate proofreading service fee.

The proofreading fee is not included in the APC. The proofreading service provider will communicate the applicable fee and issue its own invoice or payment instructions.

Authors may use other professional proofreading services. However, authors are strongly encouraged to use Enago as a substitute for the proofreading facility previously provided by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Negeri Semarang.

Important Notice

THE APC AND PROOFREADING FEE ARE TWO SEPARATE PAYMENTS AND CANNOT BE COMBINED INTO ONE PAYMENT OR INVOICE.

The APC is the publication fee payable to the account designated by Universitas Negeri Semarang, while the proofreading fee is a separate service charge payable directly to the proofreading service provider.

Authors should therefore carefully distinguish between the APC invoice issued through OJS and the proofreading invoice issued by the proofreading service provider.

Furthermore, any payment request, additional charge, or fee outside the official APC invoice issued through the IJCLS OJS system and the official payment/invoice system of the designated proofreading service provider shall not constitute a responsibility or liability of the IJCLS editorial team or journal management.

Authors are advised not to make any payment before receiving the official invoice or payment instructions from the appropriate party.

Further information regarding the applicable fees and payment procedures will be provided directly to the authors when their manuscript reaches the relevant stage of the editorial and publication process.
